A operating system is used to make a system operate(still with me on this one?) Let's start with "a system", a system needs a OS to operate, any part of a OS that does something different from "making the system operate" is not required for the OS thus counter productive. All features for other platforms are NOT REQUIRED. Plug and play is BULLSHIT, I don't want a confusing number of hardware components supported. 3 at max for each os. If you "support" more there will be endless bug combos(making them almost untraceable) in stead of tweaking the hardware. Tweaking hardware may improve performance 100 times more as this endless replacing of it, even making the bug combos start all over again. hahahahaha I can have digital sound on my commodore c64 and put 12 scrolltext's on the screen with animated font's If I do that on my webpage visitors go nuts. Some how this goes a bit beyond 64 kb doesn't it Billy?? Were are my Animated font's?? And my sprites? Did I mention the 64 kb was including the OS Billy? OH did you know the big and bloated PET OS was available when the c64 was designed? And they re used the 6502 as 6510 offering them computing power you can-not imagine? Dear Bil, we should lock you up in a room with a sid chip until you can get digital sound out of it.
