Quote: I was talking with a childhood friend of mine yesterday, and we were catching up on what's been going on with each of us lately. She had some interesting things to say about BitWise, and how people could find it, including business customers.
It struck me a while ago how customers know why they use a product and how it feels. The person selling or creating it is just guessing.![]()
humm, a blog should not make up for poor description. But there a lot more fun to read as the regular product page.
Quote:
She relayed a story to me about how she had found a program called Tinderbox. She found the product's web site but still didn't "get it." As it turned out, the product's main designer has a blog, and while the blog wasn't dedicated to Tinderbox, it discussed it frequently and gave her an insight into the software she otherwise wouldn't have had.
Because of his blog, she ended up recommending purchasing the software to her supervisor--and the software was purchased.
If you keep a broad subject it's always a surprise what to read.
Quote: Her suggestion, then, to me was that I could create a blog of my own, where I talked some about BitWise, but also about technology and general, and even real-life stuff like movies, just to prove I was a real person.
You seem to have some problem with realizing there real people on the other side. You mentioned the difference in chat and real conversation. It's all in our head I'm afraid
Quote: I generally have been against the concept of blogs/livejournals, so I'm sure some of my hesitancy comes from my long-standing wariness of those. I always think "now who the heck wants to read about my life?" Granted, I have been known to read online blogs, but it's always of people I know whom I otherwise do not keep up with but still like to read up on what's going on in their lives. ![]()
Quote: Regardless of my own personal hesitancy, her theory was that if I had a blog that was at least mildly interesting, and I linked to other blogs, that other blogs would like me, and that it would create a backdrop community behind me, which in turn would raise awareness of BitWise, and thus lead to promote it and make it more successful in both the free and Pro market.
It's a cool free product to me, I like your blog a lot!![]()
You have great skill for creating great content BUT your menu design makes very little sense to me.
Your blog is to hard to find (I found it in "unanswered posts") like the forum it should be on the front page. You could even put your latest contribution to your blog on first page of BWC. (with a "read more..." button) There is no fun in visiting a domain that's always the same.
just my 10 cents
